acclivity


  • Meaning  -  sharp upslope of a hill; OP. declivity
  • Synonyms -  ascent, rise, raise, climb, upgrade, incline, slope.
  • Antonyms -  declivity, decline.
  • Usage -  The car could not go up the acclivity in high gear.
  • Remember -  try to look for 'cliff' in this word and cliff means a high, steep face of rock. Also, try to look for elevate (elivity) in this word which also means upslope.
